In some billabongs that have been invaded by toads there have been significant numbers of dead rainbow fish but this has not been shown to be definitely caused by toads.

  • Tadpoles are seriously effected by toad eggs. All native species seem to be susceptible to this.

  • Many invertebrates that eat tadpoles by using a piercing sucker mechanism can successfully eat toad tadpoles. They seem to avoid the toxins which are in the skin layer.
