The kids go up to a nearby culvit to collect tadpoles.Most of the ones they've caught lately are large and black - are they native frogs or not...

They are most Likely Marbled Frog tadpoles. Cane toad tadpoles are really small. The image of the tadpoles on the Cane toad card in the website shows them on a 5 cent coin. The marbled frog record on the website has apicture of the tadpole. They are quite large 50-100 mm
