Habits

Diurnal, Adults live in pairs that jointly defend permanent territories. Nest is a small frail shallow cup of grass and rootlets, typically in an exposed site towards the tip of a horizontal dead branch.

Habitat

Woodland Forest, orchards and parks; favours lightly wooded country of all kinds.

Breeding

August to December. Two eggs, greenish-blue. Two broods are often raised in succession. Female builds the nest and incubates alone while her mate feeds her, but both parents feed the young. Incubation period is 16-17 days and the nestlings fledge at about 14-17 days.
