Habits

Diurnal, Highly nomadic, movements follow flushes of seeding grasses. Most activities are performed as a flock which is usually less than 100 birds. Usually change roost site each night.

Habitat

Grassland Open Woodland, Timber belt/isolated patches of scrub; trees bordering watercourses; sparsely timbered grassland.

Breeding

October November December, 4 to 8; white. Incubation 18-20 days, by female, who is fed by male at regular intervals. Young leave nest about 5 wks after hatching and are independent within a few days.
