Description
Adult grey-brown to powdery slate-grey above, finely barred pale-rufous and white below, trousers more buff. Cere, eye and legs yellow. Looks like an enlarged Sparrowhawk but the Goshawk has a rounded tail and the Sparrowhawk has a square-ended tail. When looking up close, the joint of the inner toe of the Sparrowhawk is in front of the joint of the middle toe. On the Goshawk the joint is the same as the outer toe.
Habits
Diurnal, Established pairs are sedentary and breed in the same area and same nest year after year. Often raids poultry and domestic pigeons.

Woodland Forest Stone Country, Heavily timbered; margins of watercourses; scrub; partly cleared farmlands, open forests.

September to January, 2 to 4; bluish-white, spotted and blotched.Incubation 29-33 days, majority done by female, Young fledge in 4-5 wks. Males does all hunting for brood.
